These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) establish the agreement between Master Makeup Artistry (“Artist,” “I,” “me,” or “my”) and the client (“Client,” “you,” or “your”) for professional makeup services. By booking and/or receiving services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

Master Makeup Artistry provides professional makeup artistry services, including but not limited to:

-Bridal makeup

-Special occasion and event makeup

-Soft glam and signature glam

-Editorial and photoshoot makeup

-Film and production makeup

-Makeup lessons

-On-location/mobile makeup services

The specific services, number of people, location, start time, and pricing will be confirmed at the time of booking.

I reserve the right to decline or discontinue a service if I determine that the requested service is unsafe, unreasonable, outside my professional scope, or cannot be performed under the circumstances.

2. BOOKING & RETAINER

A booking is not considered confirmed until the required non-refundable retainer/deposit has been received and the appointment has been confirmed by Master Makeup Artistry.

The retainer reserves your date and time exclusively for you and compensates the Artist for reserving that time and declining other potential bookings.

The remaining balance is due before services begin on the scheduled service date, unless otherwise agreed to in writing.

Retainers are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or otherwise agreed to in writing by the Artist.

3. APPOINTMENTS & PUNCTUALITY

Clients are expected to arrive on time and be ready for makeup application at the scheduled start time. For on-location services, the Artist must have reasonable access to the designated preparation area at the agreed-upon arrival time.Late arrival by the Client may result in reduced service time. The Artist will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the Client; however, the original service fee remains due. If a significant delay affects the Artist’s ability to complete the service or affects another scheduled appointment, the Artist reserves the right to modify or, when necessary, cancel the service.

4. CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULING

Because your appointment reserves a specific date and time, cancellations and rescheduling may result in loss of the retainer. Requests to reschedule should be made as early as possible and are subject to the Artist’s availability. A rescheduled appointment may require a new retainer if the original appointment date cannot be transferred or if the Client reschedules repeatedly. For weddings, photoshoots, productions, and other contracted services, the cancellation and rescheduling terms contained in the applicable service agreement or contract will apply.

5. BRIDAL TRIALS & CONSULTATIONS

Bridal consultations and makeup trials are available by appointment and may be subject to an additional fee. A trial allows the Client and Artist to discuss preferences, skin preparation, desired makeup style, and overall expectations. A trial is not a guarantee that the final makeup will look identical under different lighting, photography conditions, skin conditions, weather, or other circumstances on the event day. The Client is responsible for communicating any concerns or desired adjustments during the trial whenever reasonably possible.

6. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES & SKIN CONDITIONS

The Client must inform the Artist before services begin of any known:

  • Allergies or sensitivities

  • Skin conditions or active irritation

  • Reactions to cosmetics or skincare products

  • Recent cosmetic procedures

  • Medications or treatments that may affect the skin

  • Specific product or ingredient concerns

Clients should arrive with a clean face unless otherwise instructed. The Artist takes reasonable hygienic precautions and uses professional sanitation practices. However, the Client understands that makeup application involves contact with the skin and that individual reactions can occur. The Artist cannot guarantee that a product will not cause irritation or an allergic reaction, particularly when relevant information has not been disclosed.

7. MAKEUP PRODUCTS & HYGIENE

Master Makeup Artistry uses professional makeup products and follows appropriate sanitation practices between clients. Disposable or properly sanitized tools and applicators will be used as appropriate. The Artist may select products based on the Client’s skin type, desired finish, environmental conditions, photography requirements, and professional judgment. Clients may request specific products or ingredients when discussed in advance; however, product availability cannot always be guaranteed.

8. PHOTOGRAPHY & PORTFOLIO USE

Master Makeup Artistry may request permission to photograph or record the completed makeup look for portfolio, website, social media, advertising, educational, and promotional purposes. Client permission will be obtained before photographs or videos are used for promotional purposes. If the Client does not consent to promotional use, the Artist will respect that decision.

When permission is granted, the Client understands that the Artist may use the approved images without additional compensation.

9. TRAVEL & ON-LOCATION SERVICES

Mobile and on-location services may be subject to travel fees, parking fees, tolls, and other location-related expenses. Any applicable travel charges will be communicated to the Client before the booking is confirmed. The Client is responsible for providing a safe, reasonably accessible, and adequately lit area suitable for makeup application. For larger parties, weddings, productions, or extended bookings, additional artists or assistants may be required and will be discussed in advance.

10. PRICING & ADDITIONAL SERVICES

Pricing is based on the services agreed upon at the time of booking. Additional services, additional people, extended service time, touch-ups, travel, parking, tolls, early call times, or changes to the original booking may result in additional charges. Any significant changes to the original booking should be communicated as soon as possible and may require a revised quote.

11. SERVICE RESULTS & CLIENT SATISFACTION

The Artist will make reasonable professional efforts to achieve the agreed-upon makeup look. However, makeup is an artistic service, and results may vary based on individual skin type, skin texture, facial features, personal preferences, lighting, photography, weather, and other conditions. The Client is encouraged to communicate preferences, concerns, and desired adjustments during the application. Once the Client approves the completed makeup, refunds will generally not be provided based solely on a change of preference or dissatisfaction with artistic style.

12. LIABILITY

Master Makeup Artistry will provide services with reasonable professional care and skill. The Artist is not responsible for reactions, irritation, injury, loss, or damage arising from circumstances outside the Artist’s reasonable control, including undisclosed allergies, sensitivities, skin conditions, or information withheld by the Client. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable California law.

13. UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES

The Artist will make reasonable efforts to fulfill all confirmed appointments. However, circumstances such as serious illness, emergencies, natural disasters, transportation disruptions, venue restrictions, or other events beyond the Artist’s reasonable control may affect the Artist’s ability to provide services. If the Artist is unable to perform the service because of such circumstances, the Artist will communicate with the Client as soon as reasonably possible and make reasonable efforts to assist with alternative arrangements when feasible.

14. AGREEMENT & ACKNOWLEDGMENT

By booking services with Master Makeup Artistry, submitting a retainer, signing a service agreement, or proceeding with the appointment, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions. If you have questions regarding these Terms, please contact Master Makeup Artistry before booking or receiving services.
